but if I had realized how simple of a device this is, I would have just put the bottles in a bowl of water, covered it, and put it in the microwave! It would have been a lot cheaper!!! It literally is just a bowl with a cover, and a fancy bottle holding device. Nothing elaborate!

If you use the born free bottles exclusively or primarily, I would highly recommend this sterilizer. I had an avent one, which works for the smaller bottles and misc parts from testing which bottle the baby liked, but when she settled to born free, the larger bottles don't really fit other sterilizers well. Definitely worth spending the money to have the same brand's sterilizer... and it does four (4) bottles and parts at a time! i also use glass, this works fine with the glass bottles.

THIS STERILIZER WAS EASY TO USE AND GAVE A SENSE OF SECURITY FOR CLEAN STERLIZED BOTTLES. GAVE UP THE AVENT AND BORN FREE BOTLES THOUGH AND WENT TO THE PLAYTEX DROP INS. MUCH LESS HASLE.

The product works great - it's SOOO much faster than boiling an entire pot of water (just takes a couple minutes in the microwave)! I didn't give it 5 stars only because it's not quite as nifty as the Avent one with it's "dome rack" in the center. But it does what it's supposed to do.

Not good for other bottles May 13, 2010

I received this sterilizer as a gift from my registry. I intended to use BornFree bottles exclusively, but little did I know that my baby would not be a fan. He prefers the Dr. Brown bottles because the smaller nipple is easier to fit in his mouth. Well, the larger (taller) Dr. Brown bottles are too tall for this sterilizer. Therefore, I am going to try a more universal sterilizer, such as the Munchkin or First Years one. Also, I use a Medela pump, and the 4 oz Medela bottles always tip over in this sterilizer. I'm not sure it will be better with a different sterilizer though. Overall, unless you are strictly using BornFree bottles, I would suggest checking out another sterilizer. (Also the other sterilizers I am considering, the First Years and Munchkin ones, are cheaper. The price on this one is quite high.)
