misleading Oct 25, 2011
My wife and I bought this play yard for our son because it is the nicest we've seen on the market for the money. This isn't a pet yard, so your child won't look like an animal inside it. It actually has some educational value with the primary colors, so you can start to teach your child the colors upon arrival, then move on to what's inside. You should know, however, that if you want to make it into a square shape with the rounded corners as shown in some of the product images, you need to buy those corner pieces separately. Someone else reviewed this play yard and discovered the same thing when they opened the box. It's one of those things where you open it up and go..."Oh...so it doesn't come with the rounded corner pieces as shown in the photo? You have to buy those separately??!! The manufacturer needs to be clear in the ad description regarding what pieces are included. What you CAN do with what's in the box is make it an 8 panel, 6 panel, or L shape play yard if you wish, without buying additional pieces. Thanks for reading and I hope you find this review helpful.

Good playpen! May 11, 2010
By M. Myers
I just received this playpen today after purchasing it on sale for $99. I received it less than three business days after purchase (two days earlier than estimated). After some research and reviewing other reviews, I decided this was the best choice for us. I took previous reviewers advice about the stickers and did not put the teddy bear stickers on. I was a little disappointed to find that the panel with the toys also required stickers. The mirror is a sticker as well. I did use the two stickers required for that panel, because otherwise it looked kind of junky.
My first impression upon opening the box was disappointment that the plastic it's made out of seems to be of low quality. I got over that fast enough when my little guy (almost 9 months old) found the panel with the toys and crawled to it to play with it before I even managed to put the thing together. I had to set it up around him so he could keep playing! The door functions well and I'm happy with that.
Regarding the size of the playpen, this thing is huge. Absolutely huge. I was happy to find that I could leave a couple of panels off when putting it together (using 6 sides instead of 8). I'll keep it this way until I can make some more space in our living room. If you want to purchase this playpen, but aren't sure if you have enough space, rest assured that you can leave off some panels to best fit the room. I'm also very happy with how I can pull the whole thing in different directions to fit the room better. I have it set up slightly more rectangular. Just because I can move it doesn't mean my little one can, though. He's been pulling himself up to stand, pushing on the walls, and it's not budging.
The primary reason I'm not giving this five stars is simply because of the low quality of the plastic and the stickers. It's more of an aesthetic thing. I don't think it's going to break. It actually seems quite sturdy, but aesthetically I'm not too thrilled about having something that *looks* poor quality (even if it's not) taking up 1/3 of my living room. Maybe I'm overthinking it... I do agree with a previous reviewer about it likely being difficult to store. But honestly, when you look at it-- it's a bunch of big, thick plastic panels connected together. It wouldn't be feasible for it to fold and it should be expected to take up a good deal of space. I recommend keeping the box it was shipped in for storage purposes later on because the box fits everything in it perfectly.
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. My little guy has a ton of room to move around and I'm finally able to get some things around the house done without worrying that he's going to get bored after 5 minutes in it. (This was an upgrade from the jumperoo-- I think he started feeling too confined in that.) One feature of this playpen, the panel with the toys, is a great feature that I couldn't really find on too many other playpens. The size and flexibility of the design is great. I wish this model were offered in alternate colors as it is now a primary fixture in the main room of the house, but I'll live. My little guy just loves this thing too much for me to be concerned with something like its color.

Misrepresented! Dec 17, 2010
I bought this product after reading several positive reviews on this website. However, when I received it, it became clear that the product description was inaccurate. As another reviewer recently noted, the package does not come with the four joints required to create the 4-panel set-up, making it unacceptably small. My package was also missing the two wall braces, required for using the panels as a gate. When I contacted the seller (Best Choice Products) through Amazon, I received a response akin to, "this is all you get," despite the fact that the instruction manual clearly lists four joints and two wall braces as included in the package. I plan to return the product for a full refund, and will never purchase anything from this seller again. Caveat emptor!

Be Very Careful If Your Child Can Walk - I never write bad reviews, I just felt like it was my duty on this one... Jul 10, 2011
By Jon Mason
At 13 months old our twins were climbing over the gate. Our one twin went over it and landed on his head. My wife thought he broke his neck. I never let them out of my site now when they're around the gate. I'm going to post a pic so you can see what I'm talking about. At the hinges there is basically a perfect ladder for their little feet and a lot of times, at that age they can get over, but lack the coordination to actually flip their feet over and land. It's a horrible horrible design... Not sure what they were thinking. I would not buy this for any child that can walk and I would be very weary of buying it for a younger child b/c one day they may figure out the built in ladder when you actually let loose and trust that it will contain your child. I probably will not even sell this on Craig's List b/c I don't want another child to get seriously injured on it... 2 thumbs down IMO.

A review that explains the other reviews good and bad. Nov 19, 2011
First off I wanted to say, I live in a small aparment, and i needed something to help baby proof an area of my small aparment because my seventh month old was getting into everything, and my aparment was way to small to baby proof, first off i wanted to say I LOVE THIS PRODUCT, i already knew what i was getting because i had something similar to this with my four year old son, except his used to be only four panels with four corner connectors so when i saw this was twice as big for cheaper i was so happy. i read the reviews and saw good reveiws and bad reviews, but i thought to myself sure why not i will take a chance, and im glade i did.
the shipping was great, it was fast and i was happy with it, but when i received it i noticed that one of the pegs on the door panel was half way broken, so i called up the company who sells it, and i have to say, I HAVE NEVER RECIEVED SUCH WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! the lady kepy saying how sorry she was, and i told her the peg is half broken and its fine to use, but if he leans on it i dont know if it will ever totaly break off, she said no problem she will send me out another panel right away. I then expected to have to shove this panel back into a box and ship it to them, and she told me nope, i can keep it, the other new panel is on its way! i couldent belive how wonderful and easy she made it for me! i was on the phone with them for about 3 min!
some people in there reviews said there not happy with the matriel, that its cheap feeling., well let me tell u something, this plastic is hallow on the inside, and light, but ITS DURABLE! very durable and it can take a beating just fine. people dont relize something, the plastic can not be solid, if the plastic was solid, it wouldent be child safe! it would be really heavy there for if it fell on the child, it would crush them. so it had to be as light as possible so if it ever fell, then it wouldent seroulsy injure the child, so though the plastic is hollow on the inside its still thick and durable on the ourside. ;-)
i read a review about the sucntion cup covers, they are a good size, and i think its to big for a child to acutally get the thing cought in there throat if one of them falls off, it would be easy to pull it out of the childs mouth. i havent had an issue with them falling of though, but i do make sure i check them.
now the reviews on the stickers, i put the stickers on, and there so cute and i love them, they are a bit tricky to get on and time conusming, but its worth it. people say the stickers fall off, well the thing is, the sticker to tend to lift up on the edges for the first week or so. but if you really really wanted the stickers on, stay patient and keep pressing them back on to the plastic, what happends is the air and such gets to them making them stickyer over time. so be paitent with them and the will stick on permeanlty.
the toy panel is cute, but of course it dosent have a bunch of stuff on it. i mean this isent made to be a play ground, its made to keep your child inclosed in a safe area. so that wasent a big deal for me, my son loves the toy table, and i have other toys in there with him.
my son has figured out if he pushed the panel hard enough he can move it a little bit, but thats not even a big deal. its not like its going to go anyway maybe just a few inches. so what. if you really dont want it to ever move, the glue it to the floor lol.
i really like the door and the locking mechinisam on it. its really neat. there is a hing that automaticaly hooks into it, and then there is an extra lock, and to get this extra lock to lock just simply turn the handel a bit further. its nice and easy and can be done with one hand. the door closes automtically and i love that. if the door does end up swining back on to your child and baby, its very light and it wont hurt them. so no worrys there.
i know i keep saying this is light, but its not easy to move or tip over its very sturdy.
i have also read other reviews of people complaing it dosent do its job and such like that or there kids have flipped out of it. well people really need to follow the instructioins, the instructions warn you that though it keeps your child safe, there never 100 percent safe. something like that.. and its true, they even say use this product with super vision! yes i can walk away from my baby for 10 min to do a few things. like cook, clean, and such. its not to baby site your baby! and people confuse this all the time!!!!!!! nothing can baby site your baby except humans. so you still need to pay attention and keep an eye on your children!
well anyway i could say loads more about the products but all the postive reveiws cover that. :-) i hope this helps. happy shopping.
