5My Newborn loves it  Feb 09, 2010
By Spork
This carrier is perfect for both me and my husband. Our daughter loves being held in the front position and falls asleep almost immediately once we strap her in. The Beco is easy to use, comfortable to wear, and our daughter is securely held in it. Best of all it came with the infant insert and isn't super bulky like some of the other carriers available out there.

5Get this one!!! Much better than Ergo, Lillebaby, and Bjorn - I've used all of them.  May 14, 2011
By Lisa Murakami
If you're in the market for a baby carrier, please heed my advice: GET THIS ONE. You'll never regret it.

I've extensively used the bjorn and ergo while nannying, and I bought the Lillebaby when we had our own last September - used it for 8 months. I then tried my friend's Beco. Within a week I had sold my Lillebaby - and took a big hit. The Beco is worlds above those other carriers, and I can tell you exactly why:

The Ergo and the Lillebaby are basically the same setup. With both of them you have to snap the top snap behind your neck while the baby is IN the carrier. This basically means that the top snap will always be too high on your shoulders and neck to be comfortable. Don't be fooled by the salespeople who adjust it for you and tell you you'll learn to adjust it yourself. It's not possible to get that top back snap any lower on your back with the baby in the carrier, unless your spouse is home to move it down after you have it on with the baby. I went BACK into the high-end store that sold it to me and they admitted as much.

The Beco avoids that problem entirely because you actually snap the top snap behind your neck BEFORE the baby is in the carrier. This means that you can lift the entire carrier as high over your shoulders as you need to, to snap that top back snap. Then you can pull the carrier back down around your waist, and the top snap falls in the middle of your back - an area completely unreachable with the baby in the carrier, but SO much more comfortable than having the weight on your upper back and neck. You THEN put the baby into the carrier. It's such a breeze. It's also much, MUCH easier to learn to use than the Lillebaby, which is simply not user-friendly at all. The Beco actually comes put together in the box, including the infant insert, so you don't even need to look at the directions to see how it works - it's obvious. With the Lillebaby I was on the web watching how-to videos - nobody has time for that with a new baby.

As to the bjorn, it's just not a good carrier, period. It's nice for newborns because it's very simple to use, but as soon as your baby gains a pound or two your shoulders and neck will be hurting. I was beyond relieved when the mother I nannyed for got an ergo. And the Beco is a MAJOR improvement over that.

Don't waist your money! I ignored the advice of two mom-friends, both of whom already had more than one baby - I thought the Lillebaby Sport was really cute and figured I was more familiar with the Ergo/Lillebaby setup so I'd stick with what I knew. Big mistake. Get the Beco.

ALSO - I'm 5'3", just like the other reviewer who gave 4 stars. I've never had a problem needing to adjust this for being shorter. In fact I'd heard the opposite: That the Beco was good for shorter-torsoed people. It's my dream carrier.

5Fantastic Baby Carrier  Jun 18, 2010
By G. D'Addario
I would highly recommend this baby carrier, particularly to anyone who is on the petite side. My son and I have both enjoyed this carrier immensely, and although now that he is six months old and doesn't use it as much as the first few months, it still comes in very handy. The carrier is extremely comfortable and I never had any back pain even when I used it for more than an hour at a time. My son slept very peacefully and was held very securely when I did housework, bending down to load the dishwasher, cooking, etc. It is very easy to put the baby in and take him/her out, and also to adjust the straps when the baby is in it. We found it very convenient to use going through airport security, as we could load and unload the baby quickly and easily, and with no metal parts I sailed through the security check. The small infant insert made it useful from just after he was born through now (almost 20 lbs), but I have not yet used it as a backpack, which it can do as the child gets older. It is also nice to know that the fabric is organic considering that my son spent many hours with his face firmly planted against it! Lastly, I like the panther design, it is cute and totally unisex.

5love my beco  May 10, 2010
By B. Stockwell
Nothing better! Tried almost all the other brands of carriers. None hold a candle to this! Easy to put on, get baby settled and comfortable, even by yourself once you get the hang of it. Top quality and definitely worse the price as it holds baby from infancy through toddler years. You won't regret this purchase!

5So Easy!  Apr 26, 2010
By Lindsey
I love my Beco Butterfly! I only wish I had purchased one sooner! It has great support. It makes it simple to carry a baby (or toddler) as long as you need to. I have carried both my infant son in it and my 35 lb. 2 year old! I call it the "nap maker" since my 2 year old falls asleep every time he rides in it! This carrier fits me and my husband! It is pretty simple to use and mine came with an instructional DVD. I get so many compliments on my Beco! My Beco definitely gets much more use than my stroller! (In fact, my stroller sits in my garage collecting dust.) It is definitely worth the money spent on it!
