wonderful dresser/changing table Mar 29, 2004
Once we found this item in a local store (many phone calls to the stores/customer service later), we immediately were impressed with the quality and price. This piece is a perfect height to double as a changing table which is our intention. The only problem we noticed is that the top needs a little reinforcing during the assembly process. My husband used a couple blocks of wood and a few screws to more securely attach the top to the base. Most of the piece is treated pine with only the top and drawer faces being verneer. The color is very similar to the color viewed on-line.

nice nursery dresser, horrible packaging Feb 01, 2011
By amm59a The first box that was delivered was almost completely destroyed, barely held together by a few remaining pieces of tape. Two sides of the box were open and completely exposed to the elements. Peering into the box it was obvious that some pieces were banged up and water damaged. Amazon promptly agreed to arrange for a return and to ship us a new one. (The UPS guy who picked up the package gave me a hard time about accepting such a beat up box.) The second dresser arrived in a box that was also seriously distressed, but the sides were still intact so we decided to try to open and put it together.
Inside we found that a container of 26 wood screws was broken open. We found about 11 screws throughout the packaging that had caused a number of superficial scratches to the facade of the dresser, but at this point we decided to keep it rather than hold out hope that the third dresser would be in any better shape. Luckily we had wood screws that we could substitute for the missing screws. Then putting together one of the drawers, we noticed that the drawer slider on one side had been incorrectly pre-attached to the top of the drawer instead of the bottom. We had to unscrew that drawer slider, drill on the correct side of the drawer and re-attach it ourselves. Finally two holes that should have been pre-drilled to attach the top side of the dresser had not been drilled so we had to do that ourselves as well. The directions were a bit lacking, especially the photographs, and it required a lot of patience on our part to figure this out.
Believe it or not though, the dresser itself is actually pretty good quality for the money. For comparison, it's much more stable and better quality materials than the dresser we got from Ikea for our first baby. If they could just figure out how to ship it....

A great addition to the nursery Aug 11, 2004
By Amy We looked far and wide for a natural dresser to match our crib and changing table and this one was perfect! We were impressed by how sturdy and heavy-duty the piece was too! It's elegance makes the nursery look adorable, but as strong as it seems to be I know it will last far longer than the decoration of the nursery will! It was fairly easy to assemble, I do suggest reading ALL of the directions before starting though... After it was together both me and my husband were VERY pleased with the way it added to the room!
Good furniture for the price. Apr 13, 2012
By S. Johnson Pros: Nice looking. All solid wood except for drawer bottoms and back panel, which are sturdy. Solid, sturdy piece. Easy to assemble.
Cons: I had to order this twice, and returned the first one because the box was severely damaged. It had obviously been shipped and returned many times before. The box was torn and retaped, with huge open gashes in the cardboard. Pieces were rattling around inside, and falling out of the box. Amazon, you need to stop sending this box to customers! Burn it in a bonfire! There was cosmetic damage to a drawer front and a corner of the dresser. Gashes and cracks in the finish that didn't affect performance, and are not too visible if you don't look closely. I kept it anyway because this was the THIRD dresser I ordered (including another brand), and I'm out of time and tired of messing with this. The hardware comes presorted in a compartmentalized blister pack. The compartment with the wood screws was broken open, and the screws were loose all throughout the box. Ultimately, one was missing, although I was able to replce it since it was a standard size wood screw.
Overall, a decent piece of furniture despite the flaws.
Nice dresser Feb 03, 2010
By Annalise Very sturdy, well-packaged piece of furniture. My only complaint was that it was missing one drawer pull. Not just for "baby's room", this was the right size for some storage in my small guest room.
