Best carseat best safty ratings.. awesome price! Sep 13, 2011
By LuckyMomma I love this car seat.. I just love it.. I have a cheap Graco with my oldest and someone gave me a BABY TREND with my second.. I was in shock.. I thought "all car seats are the same..why pay that much more?" no nonononono they are not all the same.. and the features on this one make it really stand out.. my son is 5 months and he still fits in it comfortably and he is big for his age.. I love the handle it makes it sooo much easier to hold.. I have arthritis and believe me it makes a HUGE difference! It just makes things easier and it has the safest ratings out of any car seat even the super pricey ones.. LOVE IT!
try out buckle and latch system first!!!!! Apr 03, 2012
By janie m. My daughter got this car seat, and though reading the book and trying to adjust the bottom "latch" or holder between the legs, we found it impossible to give it extra length and this is for a newborn, and it is already too short. If it falls off the center of the diaper area, it digs into her thigh, so I had to make sure it stayed dead center, that is when we did succeed in getting the shoulder strap prongs into it. Also putting together the two "prongs" that are attached to the shoulder straps together, and holding them together and at the same time while putting them into the bottom holder, or "latch" (between the baby's legs, aforementioned) is very difficult. It takes great pressure to get them into the "latch", which results in pressure against the baby in doing so. It is very hard to do, keeping the two pieces together in the precise position, while pushing it into the too short "latch", using a lot of pressure, all at the same time, resulted in us giving up and only clipping a top clasp on the shoulder straps together without plugging the bottom prongs together and into the bottom "latch"... for fear of hurting the baby in the process. We already lengthened the shoulder straps to a higher setting, which was needed anyway, without helping with the other situation. The booklet that came with the car seat mentioned there are two types of "prongs" and it seemed one type didn't have to be held together so precisely (and even wanting to move out of place while concentrating on keeping them together). I will try and order the other type and find out too how to lengthen that bottom "latch." I had to leave before I completed this mission but am on it now, as I just got back from my cross country trip to see my new grand daughter, and will contact the company. I am writing this, to warn: try out the buckle system before purchasing!!! and make sure it is easy to insert and easy to hold the two pieces together (that are attached to the bottom of the shoulder straps,) while doing the insertion, or else you will be pushing into the baby while doing so, needing a lot of pressure to get them into that bottom latch. The rest of the car seat works fine, it is easy to take it in and out of the bottom holder, to take the baby into the stores, and seems to fit shopping carts good, and fit into the jogging stroller it came with, which is easy to fold up, though the wheels take some maneuvering to get it into a Camry trunk. Nicely made jogging stroller which glides easily along. The base of the car seat too is adjustable, so the infant can recline more while in it. I put it in the most recline position as an infant can't be sitting up, and I think it is sad to see infants in too much of an upright position, as they end up falling into themselves and looking all scrunched. Sorry for the repetition, grammar, as I was picturing the process of using this all important buckle system, and wanted to describe the situation thoroughly and it will take even more time to edit this review.
