Better for smaller babies Aug 28, 2011
By JaymesW I absolutely adored the Baby K'Tan while my son was small. I could carry him around hands-free and he was snug, often just sleeping while I puttered or while we were out and about. I'm so sad that now that he is bigger, I find that my back is starting to hurt when he is in the front-carry positions, and I really just think it's that he is so heavy - 17 pounds at almost 4 months. Now I find that I'm going to my Mei Tai style carrier BabyHawk Mei Tai Organic Baby Carrier Eyes of the World on Avocado Straps and Dainty Baby Reusable Bag Bundle
I have not yet tried the rear carry positions with him, I'm waiting for him to get a little bigger, so I'm hoping to get more use yet.
One note, I'm not a fan of the hip carry position, it just doesn't feel secure to me, even with the extra sash. I think that is typical of the sling style carriers. I've had no issues with the other front carry positions, having the crossed straps and the tie around feels plenty safe.
This carrier washes well and seems to be holding up just fine to wear and tear. I was worried about the light color, but haven't had any issues with staining so far. It's definitely going to be a keeper for Number Two in the future.

Love my Baby K'tan! Aug 04, 2010
By Avidly Perfecting I purchased my baby k'tan carrier and have used it several times now. I am too impatient for the manual's multi-step instructions but had no trouble following the very helpful and short videos online. The carrier is extremely soft and my seven month old daughter loves being in it when we go out. It's also breathable which has extremely important for me during our record breaking heat waves this summer. I have not noticed any stretching with mine like someone else mentioned. Even though I am busty and usually size up on things like this, I stuck to their sizing chart and ordered a size small. The size chart was very accurate and the fit is comfortably snug, like a hug. It's the only carrier/sling my daughter didn't fight to get out of and we get lots of compliments when we go out. It does distribute weight evenly, stays supportive of both of us for long periods of shopping, is very comfortable and washable. I haven't talked to anyone who doesn't love theirs; you should definitely try it out!

Nice sling Jul 29, 2010
By Fitness Swimmer All in all good product. Purchased for 6.5 lb newborn who was sliding down in other carriers. Now as he is getting bigger it is really nice to have weight distributed on both shoulders. You don't have to fold it or put it on perfectly for it to be usable which is nice. It seems to stretch out after a few wears and become too big but it is minor because you can machine wash and tumble dry to shrink it back up. So far have only used it with the cradle and kangaroo positions. I prefer my hotsling for short trips but this is but better if baby is going to be inside it for any real length of time.
Fits tight, fits right! May 04, 2012
By R. Christian I just had to offer a quick review based on some of the others I've read. I bought my first Baby K'tan when my daughter was about 2 months old. I have two friends who both had K'tans (one small, one medium). Since I kinda fit in between sizes on the chart they have (I wear an 8 to 10 depending on the cut of clothing), I was glad to have friends who had them so I could sort of try it out to figure out which one fit me better.
I have to say that I ended up getting the small size and it makes such a difference for it to fit tighter. So many people seem to think it is too tight, while it does take some getting used to, I found that my back had less stress with the smaller size (which the chart suggested I get based on the sizing tips). While the medium did fit comfortably, over time, with use, it ended up being too big and was hard on my back.
I feel like my baby likes the close hold and being tight - its like being swaddled. Now that my little one is a bit older and has a strong back and neck , we use the K'tan with one arm out so she doesn't get squirmy.
My tip to those looking into buying one is to call Baby K'tan customer service so they can help you choose a size if you aren't sure.
Overall, a great carrier with a small learning curve but definitely worth learning! I will hold on to this one for my next addition (hopefully).
Great Carrier, Sizing Questionable... Apr 23, 2012
By A. R. Robinson I have been using the moby wrap with my three month old since she was born and we both absolutely love it, however, I was looking for something that wouldn't drag all over a store floor or parking lot while wrapping her. Ordered the baby k'tan last week and really like the concept of it- definitely a better product for on-the-go use! I did have to exchange it though- the sizing chart on their website was totally wrong. I am a petite 5', 110 pounds and the x-small was so tiny I had to contort my baby just to get her into it and she is only 11 pounds! Once she was in we were both uncomfortable. Went back to using my moby wrap and waiting to receive the small- will update the review.
