The BAM Bassinet - White is just the beginning, as it easily converts into our BAM crib. Compact in size, it can easily roll through a 24" door and each caster is lockable and swivels 360 degrees. The bassinet comes with a machine washable, 1" foam mattress pad covered in soft cotton quilted cover and two soft organic white sheets with a zipper closure.

We liked this bassinet, but.... Mar 07, 2012

This bassinet is very attractive, well made, and rolls very easily. Having said that, though, I was expecting something a bit higher quality for the "mattress" part. The "mattress" piece is just a maybe 1 1/4" thick piece of cheap foam. I know that it needs to be very firm and that you don't want it to cause any risk of smothering and all, but I guess I just expected a higher quality foam or something a bit more dense and substantial for the money. This bassinet worked great for us, but only for a short time - our daughter was very long at birth and was only able to use this for about 3 months because she just got too long for it and was hitting her head on it constantly if she'd move around at all. We did not buy this with the intention of turning it into the crib by Argington. We purchased a different crib from Restoration Hardware, so when she outgrew this at 3 months, we were totally done with any use for this. It was a very expensive bassinet to only use it for 3 months, but we are holding on to it in case we have more children. The bassinet itself seems like a high quality one, and is very nice looking - I loved that I could roll her (while she was sleeping) from our first floor master bedroom into the family room without her even waking. It really was useful - just not for very long.
