I have never seen or touched a bumper prior to this so I never had a reference. I expected a really bland looking cushion, but it really is a nice neutral shade of... off white. I didnt know how nice this was until i went to sears and looked at the bumper they had in stock there. The print on it was fancy and I can imagine some people loving it, but I felt it and it felt cheap and artificial, AND it was twice the price. I love the how soft and natural this feels. My son could probably care less but I know how much better this is for him not having to breath in all those unnatural chemicals every night. I am so glad I found this bumper. Such a great deal for such a healthier alternative.

The American Baby Company Organic Crib Bumper is terrible. It has a very strong chemical smell which took two washings to remove (after I presoaked both times!), which defeats the purpose of being organic. And after I washed and dried it per the manufacturer's instructions, I couldn't believe how puffy this thing is! It's like a huge mushy pillow. I simply refuse to use it because of the SIDS risk. One more thing--it's called American Baby Company, but it's made in China. Wish Amazon would have listed this detail. I ended up buying a set of Wonder Bumpers Go Mama Go Designs Wonder Bumpers, Blue/Cream, 38 Pack. They're EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, but given all the other options out there, it was the best one for me and my baby. (They're also made in China, unfortunately.) I also considered BreathableBaby Breathable Safer Bumper, Fits All Cribs, White and Inspired Ideas BABY CozyWedge Crib Bumper in Blue but needed something to prevent my baby from bumping his head on the rails.

I use this as a spare when I clean the other one. It's soft to the touch but not as "fluffy" as I thought it would be. There are not alot of ties on it which is eaiser to take on and off but my little guy can move the bumber up and down.

My only complaint is that I'd prefer more ties, to keep it in place better -- although those also make it more of a hassle when changing crib sheets.
