Don't give up on manual pumping! Nov 13, 2007
By M. Jefferson I've tried the Gerber and Medela manual hand pumps, but this one is by far the fastest, easiest, and most compact pump out there. The one handed operation lets me pump while nursing, taking advantage of my let down with my baby. It looks cheap, but it it works great. I also have an electric pump, but I keep this in my diaper bag to help relieve engorgement and to pump when I am traveling.

Great Pump! Jun 19, 2008
By Maria Rivenbark I have the automatic Medela, but kept this one with me at all times when away from baby. It is simple, small, and IT WORKS! You can determine the 'squeeze' and I found that sometimes if I just kept holding it half squeezed, it would allow for a longer continuous flow and so made pumping faster than with other manual pumps.

Makes pumping so convenient! Oct 20, 2008
By Lucy1000 This little pump is amazing. It allows me to pump much faster than the Ameda Purely Yours, and it's so convenient to use. It really does fit into my purse, and the clean-up is a cinch. I no longer use an electric pump since this one is so much easier and actually much faster!

Easy to use hand pump Jun 13, 2011
By K Mommy I purchased this for emergencies when I need to relieve engorgement or on date nights. It uses the same valve/flange as the Ameda Purely Yours so is compatible with other Ameda pumps. I actually traded hygeine kits with a friend of mine b/c her hospital used Ameda and mine used Medela but we both own pumps of the other brand. Her hospital's Ameda hygeine kit included a hand pump too so now I have two!
Of course if you are trying to exclusively pump or pump while at work, I wouldn't rely on just hand pumping but this is great to get the job done if it's just 1-2 x's a day. Have brought it out on date night and gone to the restroom to relieve engorgement so I could enjoy the rest of my night. I haven't tried this yet b/c I make more than enough milk, but you could use this to hand pump on one breast as your baby nurses off the other to save all milk released during the let down process.

DON'T USE, YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR SUPPLY May 19, 2011
By mamaler0y I've used Avent manual for 4 years of nursing and a LC gave me one of these for free and its terrible. It will barely take milk out while the Avent completely empties me out. It also looses latch constantly since the suction is so weak.
