Can't Be Used With Decora Outlets Nov 01, 2009
By T. McCormick
"din3500psi"
This is a great idea but it is executed with one serious limitaton: it can't be used with the modern "decora" style outlets. Those are the ones where the plug sockets are housed in a single rectangular unit, with two screws above and below to attach the cover. This works great with the old style plugs that have two oval plug sockets and a singe screw in the middle to mount the cover. Unfortunately we had our entire house rewired and can't use a single one of these that we bought.

Keeps my one year old from getting electrocuted Jan 10, 2010
By Anthony J. Epter This is a great product. My one year old loves playing with wires, plugs (anything that can electrocute him). I bought this in order to protect my computer wires (he had already ruined two wires for my computer) and it works great he cannot get the cover off and is no longer interested. I would just keep in mind that since this is difficult to take off for my one year old it also is for me so I would not recommend using this if you need to plug and unplug things on a daily basis.

great child-proofing item Mar 04, 2009

"Don't be fooled by imposters"
this outlet cover is the best I've found. It covers adapter plugs, thick extension cords, everything short of power strips. Easy to intall, easy to use and remove. I prefer this item over the outlet cover that snaps shut when the plug is removed because when a plug is partially pulled out of socket, there is still a chance tiny fingers can touch a prong and get electrocuted.

Work great for thick cords Feb 01, 2012
By Sarah Bixler I previously purchased Safety 1st 48308 Outlet Cover with Cord Shortener and found that they do not work with cords from surge protectors or anything thicker than a small appliance cord really unless you cut the opening to be bigger. I decided to try this cover to see if it would work better and I am much more satisfied. Just as easy to put on and fits thick cords very well. It also seems like it is a bit more secure. If you pull on the cord coming out of the other one hard enough the cover will pop off. With these ones the cover slides over grooves on the part attached to the wall and holds pretty tight. I will probably purchase a couple more of this one to replace the other cover and for other outlets that need them.

Okay, but not childproof Jul 20, 2011
By MomOfThree First let me explain that I have a two and a half year old boy who is very inquisitive and very determined. He long ago figured out how to remove the simple plug covers that we put in unused outlets. After using these more deluxe covers in his room for about six months, he has figured out how to remove them. However, six months is a pretty good length of time for him, so I'm overall pleased. I would love to find a cover that is truly childproof in our home, but I have yet to find any product that is indestructible to this child!
