Nice for the Price Jan 09, 2012
By Boarhammer My wife and myself are both registered nurses and are used to working with clinical grade products. We have another grandchild on the way and wanted to get a thermometer for the new baby that would be the least intrusive so that temperture could be checked without disturbing the baby's sleep. This product allows for that due to only needing to get about 1.5 inches from forehead area to work. Also you can set it to silence the beep so that it makes no sound other than the quiet click of the trigger pull. The bright display is easy to read in a darkend room and it's auto turn off feature is a battery saver.
Also, I did not realize when I ordered this but there is a way to change the setting to go from taking core temps (for body) to surface temps (for objects). The process is simple and only involes the pressing of a couple of buttons on the side and you can go from checking the temperature of a person to checking the temperature of an object, i.e. wonderful for checking the terperature of a bottle of formula that has been heated to ensure that it is not too hot.
Batteries included as well as a drawstring pouch to keep meter in, instructions need to be followed closely to achieve best results but they are clear and easy to understand. Non-contact helps to prevent the spread of contagions when used in a multi-person household.

Impressed Dec 16, 2011
By Happy mom I have two kids and my youngest HATES having her temp taken. I bought this due to the reviews and the price I figured I would try it. I have to say, I'm impressed with it. First thing, both of my kids sweat like no ones business all the time. So dermal thermometers always read high for them, (close to 100), even when they aren't sick. Every time I've taken them for a check up, the doctors forehead thermometer scans them and says it's about 97F which is right. My temp is usually around 96F. Anyway, this thermometer, no matter how sweaty, reads them between 97 and 98. Of course when they are truly sick, I can tell due to the little activity they display and the complaints. At that point the thermometer reads about 99 to 101. Luckily none of us have been real sick this season so far... (knocks on wood)... But, as soon as this read a higher temp when they were ill I did test it against the normal thermometer and it proved to be in line with the old school (normal) thermometer. So now if I am worried especially in the middle of the night, I don't have to disturb or wake either of them to take an accurate temp. Just be sure you follow the directions EXACTLY. As with anything else, this product was designed to work a specific way so if you try to use it the way you "think" it should be used and it doesn't work... Don't give it a bad review. The LED screen is bright, it also tests room temps and water temps with different settings. Easy to use once you read through the manual once. I'm happy with it and so are my kids. :)

It actually works Dec 22, 2011
By Vlad I was very sceptical when buying this thermometer but I was also so tired with all other digital fast checking thermometers that I decided to go with this one. I was very surprised that it actually worked from day one. Last week my son got a fever and that thermometer was showing correct temperature all the time (I was comparing it to a bunch of other ones and giving some space for error). Even high fever warning beep worked. This is the best digital thermometer that I found so far.

P.O.S. Dec 27, 2011
By jovialwoodchuck Couldn't get consistent temperatures from one reading to the next, and very few readings agreed with the 2 oral thermometers I have. Returned it.

TERRIBLE! DOESN'T WORK! Dec 23, 2011
By little.mama I had really hoped this would work because it seemed like a good solution to taking my son's temperature in the middle of the night when he is sick. Every reading is different. When I took my temperature it would say 104, 101, 100, 97, 99, Everytime something different. I am returning it today. Now I have to find something else. Save your money for something different, this is not a good buy.
